Armed Forces Day

Many Americans celebrate Armed Forces Day annually on the third Saturday of May  (May 21st in 2016). It is a day to pay tribute to men and women who serve the United States’ armed forces. Armed Forces Day is also part of Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May.

  1. Excellent, Jacqui!!

    • Thanks, GP. That first one really says a lot, doesn’t it?

      • Now I really don’t know what to put in my Armed Forces Day post!! Maybe I should just reblog yours!!

      • I’ve met some pretty neat people through you, GP. You have a great group of followers.

      • Oh, they are!! And that includes you, by the way! You and I have been reading each other’s posts for some time now. I like the way they carry on discussions between each other – not just with me (I can get repetitive and boring); I continue to learn that way too.

      • Your followers probably wouldn’t know this side of me, if not for our efriendship. I think that’s pretty cool. I tend to be quite private in real life, but online inspires me to reach out a bit more.

      • What a great thing to say! Thanks, Jacqui.

My thanks to all who serve and have served. ~ Connie

  4. A heartbreakingly beautiful tribute.

    • Thanks, Karen. With two kids in the military, these days hit me harder than most of my friends.

      • God Bless and keep them safe.

      • Thank you, Karen. That’s my prayer every day.
