What’s happening in October at USNA


Important military and patriotic days:

  • October 10th: Happy Birthday, USNA! (initially opened with 50 midshipman students and seven professors)
  • October 13th: Happy Birthday, US Navy! (the Continental Congress authorizes construction of two warships)
  • October 10th: US forces take Okinawa
  • October 18: Military World Games
  • October 26th: Day of the Deployed
  • October 27th: Navy Day

Jacqui Murray is the author of the popular Building a Midshipman, the story of her daughter’s journey from high school to United States Naval Academy.
