I’m reading the posts of the parents on USNA-Parents.org. They’re all so worried. Their high school kids (so recently) going off to a military world. No phone calls, emails. People yelling at them, pushing them physically to see if/where they break. I see my fourteen-year-old daughter and can’t imagine it. Will that be her in four years? How does a parent get through that?
Here are some of the topics they wonder about:
- what do I send with my child
- will they make it through Day One
- will I survive not talking to my child until Plebe Parent Weekend
- how to get ready (physically mostly)
I read this stuff because it makes what I’m thinking now more real.
