Wednesday Hero: Capt. Edwin A. Shuman III

82 years old from Annapolis, Maryland

Oct. 7, 1931 – Dec. 3, 2013

Edwin Shuman, III, a retired Navy pilot, and former POW who was held for five years in Vietnam, passed away two months ago. He had flown 18 missions over Vietnam when his plane was shot down north of Hanoi. He and his navigator were both captured.You can read more about Capt. Shuman here

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

    • I often wonder how parents made peace with deaths like these.
